Director of Finance & Human Resources
PURPOSE
This leadership role reports directly to the Executive Director and plays a crucial part in both financial oversight and human resources management. The Director of Finance will supervise all clerical and human resources staff within the administrative and management information offices, and will also act as a key liaison between our facility and external parties such as the county auditor’s office, vendors, and state fiscal officers.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES
Associate’s degree in finance, business administration, public administration, or a field related to our agency’s mission. The ideal candidate will have experience managing financial accounts, supervisory experience, and the ability to quickly learn grants management. Proficiency in technology, including the ability to learn complex financial software systems and various grant requirements, is essential. Experience equivalent to associates degree can also be considered. Lastly, a basic understanding of human resource laws is required.
While not required, a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is a plus, as is comprehensive financial oversight experience.
Additionally, the candidate must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and understand the importance of fostering a positive cultural environment and working effectively with diverse personalities. Special abilities and requirements include strong verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of accounting and budgeting practices, the ability to maintain complete and accurate records, and proficiency in basic office equipment.
