Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Schedule: Full-time / Grant-Funded Position (Year to Year for a maximum of 3 years)


The Eastern Ohio Correctional Center (EOCC) is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and recovery-focused MAT/Aftercare Continuing Recovery Specialist for our Lisbon Campus.

This role plays a vital part in supporting residents as they transition through Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and into stable, long-term recovery after release.

Position Summary

The MAT/Aftercare Continuing Recovery Specialist provides ongoing support, coordination, and follow-up services to individuals engaged in EOCC’s Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program.

This position assists residents in developing recovery plans, accessing community-based resources, maintaining post-release support, and navigating their recovery journey with confidence and accountability through the use of virtual technology for aftercare services upon release.

The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, empathy, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to the principles of recovery. A Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS) license is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and mentorship to residents participating in the MAT program.
  • Assist individuals in developing individualized aftercare and recovery plans.
  • Conduct one-on-one check-ins, support groups, and follow-up sessions.
  • Coordinate with treatment teams, community partners, and external recovery resources.
  • Monitor resident engagement, progress, and adherence to aftercare recommendations.
  • Offer guidance and referrals for mental health services, recovery housing, medical services, and support groups.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case notes in accordance with EOCC policy.
  • Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and trauma-informed care practices.
  • Support residents’ transition from in-facility treatment to community-based recovery supports.

Qualifications

  • Peer Recovery Supporter (PRS) certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals in recovery, human services, social work, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with MAT programs, recovery models, and community support systems.
  • Strong communication, motivational interviewing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and work effectively within a correctional or treatment setting.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass required background checks.
